Today we come to the final sermon in our extended series in the book of Ecclesiastes. The author of the book, who identifies himself as the Preacher, provided us with a multifaceted view of life in our fallen world. In last week’s message, we saw how the Preacher concluded his message with the same words with which he began: “Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, all is vanity.” The book of Ecclesiastes could have ended after those often repeated words, but it does not. Instead, the book ends by providing us with a pointed reminder of our duty before God. Let’s open our hearts and hear afresh this reminder.
