A Contrast of Two Laws

July 30, 2017 Speaker: Cedric Moss Series: Galatians: The Gospel of Grace

Passage: Galatians 3:23–29

In Galatians 3:15-22, the apostle Paul argues that the giving of the law to Moses did not replace God’s promise of salvation through Abraham. In addition, he reminded the Galatians that the law was secondary to the promise and was given until Christ came. In the section of the letter that we have come to today, the apostle further argues that the law had a temporary role in the lives of those who have come to Christ. In making his case, Paul contrasts life under the law with life in Christ, and he reminds the Galatians and all believers of their past life under the law and their current life in Christ. Let’s open our hearts to hear afresh the wonderful truth of the result of the new life in Christ.
