Life is filled with disappointments. Anyone who does not agree is perhaps not honest or just has not lived long enough. However, many disappointments are compounded because of unreasonable and unfounded expectations. In the text for this morning’s sermon, we come face to face with two aspects of life that are sources of disappointments for many people who don’t understand them or who forget them. Let’s open our hearts to consider what God’s word has to say to us to prepare us for these outcomes in life when they come our way.
