Thoughts on Time and Eternity

May 1, 2016 Speaker: Cedric Moss Series: Ecclesiastes

Passage: Ecclesiastes 3:1–15

This morning, as we resume our sermon series in the book of Ecclesiastes, we’ve come to a section in which we find the most well-known part of the entire book. That most well-known section is Ecclesiastes 3:1-10, which begins with these words: “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under the heaven.” These verses are regularly read at funerals, and the point is that there is a time to die. However, God’s message to us in Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 is relevant not only for death, but for life as well. It teaches us important lessons about time and eternity and God and ourselves. Let’s posture our hearts to hear these lessons afresh.
